I love the art and the gameplay looks interesting (I tend to love preconstructed asymmetrical power decks) if not a smiiidge rules heavy.I noticed they just came out with a 2nd edition and am currently working on some trades to free up some room in my collection.Is this game worth getting?

I do already own Battlecon but good, solid 2-player games are one of the areas my collection is lacking. It also seems like it would play quick which would make it a good fit (though rules weight may make it a poor fit.)Anyways, would love to hear your thoughts on it.Rodney Smith's video piqued my interest but he typically has that effect. If you get into it I think you will find there is much more depth in the game then BattleCon has.Worst problem with the game is the price. I would have no problem paying 60$ per set. 100$ is a lot.Not saying BattleCon is a bad game, cause I like to play it sometimes too. I'm a fighting game player, I own Yomi 1st Edition and Battlecon: Devastation, and backed both Yomi 2nd Edition and The Battlecon remake on kickstarter.How I feel is that Yomi feels more like it replicates a fighting game more then Battlecon does. Sure it has less matchups then Battlecon, but I found it much more fun. What I thought was really neat with Yomi is that each of the characters plays much like how their fighting game counterparts play like, as well as their personalities matching their playstyle.Yomi's game designer use to play fighting games at a tournament level, and it really shows how much care went into the design of each character in terms of balance and matchups.

Not to mention it took him around 10 years of balancing to get where it is now with Yomi 2nd Edition. I prefer Yomi, as it feels closer to a fighting game for me than BattleCon does. Battlecon has the board, but it doesn't have the balance and style that Yomi does.Yomi has its mechanisms spread out over 5 cards (attack, block, dodge, throw, and joker) but you have varying strengths of each. You can combo, use super moves, and each character has a different flavor to them. It was designed by David Sirlin, who balanced Super Street Fighter II turbo, among other games, is a well known competitive Street Fighter player and game theorist. For example, the settings for 'Borders' does not respond visually nor by message, when trying to turn it off so there are no borders. A simple thing to do, and yet, here we are.
